But if you ask for a rise it’s no surprise that they’re giving none away.

Even if you aren't over 40, you've probably  heard about Pink Floyd. Maybe you have already listened to one of his records or CDs, or maybe you have watched one of his shows on DVD. Anyway Pink Floyd has been around since the 70's, and is still on the road. The original record called " The Dark Sided of the Moon" was produced in 1973 by The Gramophone Company Limited, London. The record cover had that prism with colors coming out, and the disc label had a triangle (look at the pictures).The original group was formed by: David Gilmour- vocals and guitar / Nick Mason- Percussion and tape effects / Richard Wright - keyboards and vocals / Roger Waters - bass guitar, vocals and tape effects. It was a first class group. 
All of its components were great professionals, very creative and ahead of their time. They created hits that remain till today as: “Money”, “Time” and other songs from that album. It has sold millions of copies all over the world during these more than 35 years. Some of the original players are still in activity playing in the band. 
A concert by Pink Floyd is a unique experience not only for the songs but also for the fantastic light effects they use. The concert called “Pulse” recorded live in London in 1995 used a giant stage covering the width of a soccer stadium. They used a huge screen to show movies and pictures related with the songs. Lots of laser projectors and beams gave an unforgettable visual effect, not to mention the talent of the musicians. Many songs are sung by the public as they know the lyrics, but usually the public just stays quiet enjoying the big hits of the band. The original cover of “The Dark Side of the Moon” was completely black except for the prism that you see on the top of this page.
 The show “Pulse” Live in London is available on VHS and DVD. If you can watch it you will understand better why we say it was, and still is, one of the best groups ever recorded. It’s simply amazing! Imagine the impact they caused in 1973 on the rock world. 
It was completely original, different from all the rock music market standards. This aspect added to the group talent made it one of the biggest hits of all times. If you don’t know Pink Floyd there’s something missing in your rock knowledge. Don’t expect to listen to "hard rock" or something like that, Pink Floyd makes what was called "Progressive Rock" just like other great groups of that time. Many of them are still playing. But don’t worry you still have time to listen to them, watch the videos and improve your rock culture. Have fun!
